Most of the children like celebrating Christmas but I would like the Chinese New Year. It is a special festival that is celebrated in China. It is the first day of lunar new year.
There’s a legend about Chinese New Year. A beast called Nien attack villagers every the first day of lunar new year. Then, the villagers discovered that Nien was afraid of red colour so that they all stick red paper and wear red clothes to protect themselves.
Now at Chinese New Year, people
usually eat turnip cakes, sweet rice dumplings and melon seeds. A lot of ladies
and gentlemen will wear the traditional clothes too. After that, people will
watch the parades and visit relatives happily and they are enjoyable.
Chinese New Year is my
favourite festival because all the relatives would gather together to have the
reunion dinner. We will be very joyful.
No matter what people do at
all the festivals, their purpose is to have the lovely time with their family
members at all the time!
